Enhancing Heavy Oil Knowledge: Lidoil, through its strategic partner CPTI International, coordinated a successful Training Program in Canada for the Ecuadorian company TribOil.

Between September 25 and October 12, 2025, a technical team from TribOil, accompanied by CPTI International Inc., participated in a comprehensive training program focused on new technology applications aimed at maximizing heavy oil production.
This experience, carried out in the cities of Calgary, Edmonton, Nisku, and Lloydminster (Alberta, Canada), strengthened the practical and strategic knowledge of the Ecuadorian team in one of the most challenging and promising sectors of the energy industry.

Learning at the Heart of Energy Innovation

The program combined technical presentations, field visits, and international certifications, covering key topics such as multilateral drilling, enhanced heavy oil recovery, efficient transportation, and various laboratory analyses, among other relevant subjects.

Key highlights included:

• H₂S Alive International Certification, focused on industrial safety.

• Technical visits to leading companies such as Steam Flo, Precision Drilling, Phoenix Technology Services, Cenovus Energy, and AGAT Laboratories, where participants explored monitoring processes, thermal head design, drilling technologies, and laboratory testing.

• Presentations on Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) and the application of steam injection technologies, with practical approaches in field operations.

This technical exchange allowed Ecuadorian professionals to gain first-hand knowledge of best practices in heavy oil management, maintenance, and operational optimization all adaptable to the national context.
